Sock Drawer Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
Sock Drawer is a puzzle game for iPhone made by First Shift Apps ("we"). This page explains what information the game uses, who receives it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- No account, no sign in. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
- Your progress (levels, stars, settings) is saved only on your iPhone.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google receives some device and usage information to show and measure ads. Ads are personalized only if you allow tracking when your iPhone asks.
- If the game crashes, a crash report goes to Sentry so we can fix the bug. It contains technical details about the crash, not who you are.
- A one time Remove Ads purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Information saved on your iPhone
Your level progress, stars, undo counts, settings (sound, vibration, reduce motion), whether you bought Remove Ads, and simple ad timing counters (for example, wins since the last ad) are stored on your iPhone only. We do not receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Sock Drawer is free to play because it shows ads: a short ad between some levels (never during levels 1 to 10), and an optional "watch an ad for an undo" button that you choose to tap.
To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app collects and sends to Google:
- Device identifiers: the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking in Apple's popup. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA is not available to Google.
- Product interaction and advertising data: for example which ads were shown, viewed or tapped.
- Diagnostics: ad related crash and performance information.
- Coarse location: an approximate area derived from your IP address.
Google may associate this information with your device.
How we set up ads:
- If you do not allow tracking, the app asks Google for non personalized ads only.
- The maximum ad content rating is set to G (general audiences).
- Data Google collects in the app may be linked across other apps and websites for advertising when you allow tracking. That is why Apple's popup asks first.
Google's use of this information is described in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
You can change your tracking choice any time: iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. You can also reset your advertising identifier or limit ads in Settings, Privacy & Security, Apple Advertising.
Buying Remove Ads stops the ads between levels. The optional "watch an ad for an undo" button stays available, and Google's software is still part of the app, so an ad is only requested for that button.
Crash reports (Sentry)
When the game crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Sentry (sentry.io), a service that helps developers fix bugs. A report contains:
- what went wrong (the error and where in the game's code it happened),
- the iPhone model, iOS version, and the game's version and build number,
- the last few screen changes and taps before the error (which screen, not what was on it),
- an installation identifier that Sentry's software creates on your iPhone to group reports from the same install. It is not your advertising identifier and is not shared with Google.
We set Sentry up to not send personal information: no name, no device name, no user account, no screenshots, no performance tracking. Crash reports are used only to fix bugs, never for advertising, and are not linked to your identity. Sentry's policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
Purchases
The Remove Ads purchase (and Restore Purchases) is handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app only whether Remove Ads is owned. We never receive your name, Apple ID or payment details.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.
- We do not run our own analytics, and the game does not download anything from our website.
Children
Sock Drawer is a general audience game. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ads are limited to the G content rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
Your choices and rights
- Allow or refuse tracking: iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Delete all game data: delete the app.
- Questions, or a request about information held by Google or Sentry on our behalf: email us (below). Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have rights to know, access or delete personal information; we will help with any such request.
Changes to this policy
If the game changes what information it uses, we will update this page and its effective date before that version of the game is released.
